- Acquired all shares of Taiwan Shinto Chemical Co., Ltd., a coating manufacturer in Taiwan, and made it a subsidiary.
- Acquired 30% shares of SHINTRA, a Malaysian coating manufacturer.

- Changed the name of Taiwan Shinto Chemical Co., Ltd. to DuPont Shinto Taiwan Co., Ltd.

- DuPont Performance Coatings was acquired by The Carlyle Group. DuPont Performance Coatings then changed its name to Axalta Coating systems.
- DuPont Shinto Automotive systems has changed its name to Axalta Shinto Coating Systems, DuPont Shinto Taiwan changed its name to Axalta Shinto Coating Systems Taiwan.

- Acquired 60% shares of PT. Shinto Paint Indonesia, a coating sales company in Indonesia, and made it a subsidiary.
- Axalta becomes publicly traded on The New York Stock Exchange.
- Axalta Shinto Coating Systems Taiwan Co., Ltd. acquired 60% shares of Shinto Paint Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. a coating sales company in China, and made it a subsidiary.
